Banham Patent Locks Ltd

Banham Patent Locks Ltd was founded in 1926 by William F. Banham and has been a leader in burglary prevention since that date. He invented the first Banham lock, an automatic door bolt, and became a pioneer in the production of high quality locks. Both the police and insurance industry have praised Banham locks. Our locks which have a unique registration system are still protected by worldwide patents, hence the word ‘patent’ in our company name.

The Banham Group of companies is still owned and run by the Banham family, and the company’s present Chairman is the founder’s grandson. In this age of large impersonal conglomerates, there are few companies of our size that can be as proud of a family history going back as far as ours. The first Banham locks showroom was opened in Oxford Street, and the company has now expanded to cover most aspects of home and business security systems, and has showrooms throughout the South East.

Banham Security Systems is now the largest supplier of burglary prevention systems in London. For five years we have won the coveted Gold Alarm Performance Award issued by the Metropolitan Police. No other company has ever achieved this record. The award is given annually to the company that has the least number of false alarms. False alarms waste the time of both the police and the customer, and by keeping them minimum we are able to save both time and money and ensure that our customers retain their police response.

Our own alarm receiving centre provides 24-hour cover to our customers with direct links to all the police forces in the South East. Our keyholding service is able to dispatch motorcyclists with the keys to our customers’ properties to offer a quick response to emergencies. In addition to electronic security we are able to advise on all aspects of physical security including high security locks, gates, grilles, security doors, shutters, safes and fire protection. All our products are installed by our own highly trained engineers and are not subcontracted to other companies. Banham Security Systems has been supplying home and business security systems for over 80 years. We are members of many regulatory bodies including the Master Locksmiths Association (MLA) and the National Security Inspectorate (NSI). We are also on the police list of approved alarm installers for the South East region. Our highly trained surveyors carry out no-obligation surveys of customers’ property and advise on all aspects of security systems.
