The Best Alarm Systems from Banham Security

Banham has achieved the highest possible accolade from the Metropolitan Police by being awarded the Gold and Silver Awards for the most reliable intruder alarm systems over eight successive years.

Banham's ARC Manager, Mike Bowman receives another GOLD Award from Commander Shabir Hussain of the Metropolitan Police and Jennifer Waring, BT Redcare Business Sales Manager.

A spokesman for the organisers of the Metropolitan Police Service's annual Alarm Performance Awards said, “Over the last ten years the Metropolitan Police Service has recorded a massive drop in the number of false alarms produced by the 274,000 monitored systems.

”The ever-improving performance of companies installing and monitoring alarm systems means fewer false alarms demand a police presence, which in turn frees up officers to attend true alarms and incidents and provide greater safety to the public.

”At the same time the reduction in the number of false call-outs also produces more efficient use of public funds. The Met estimates the cost of officers attending false alarms has fallen from the equivalent of £32.85 million in 1996 to around £8.85 million in 2006.”

This improved performance was recognised by presenting the Gold Award to Banham Alarms for the lowest false alarm rate.

Banham, a security company established in London over 80 years ago, was also involved in a pilot scheme to reduce the amount of Personal Attack Alarm activations its Alarm Receiving Centre pass to the Metropolitan Police Call Centres.

This has been a great success and resulted in a steady reduction in the amount of PA activations processed by Banham. Their achievement of passing 37% less alarms to the Police equates to a saving of about £5400 in additional officers being freed-up to attend other Police calls.
