Farnham Police and Banham joint for security advice

Following an increase in the burglary rate in the Waverley area of Surrey; Banham Security and Surrey Police combined their efforts and organised a Burglary Prevention Campaign.This included giving advice to members of the public and handing out leaflets. 

Banham are always willing to carry out a free security survey of a property and advise on the best ways to improve the security of the premises.

 The following article appeared in the Farnham Herald Newspaper on the 20th August 2010:-

"Representatives from Farnham police and Banham Burglary Prevention braved the rain last Friday in an effort to raise public awareness of burglary prevention.

John Robini, crime reduction adviser for Waverley, was joined by two representatives from Banham Burglary Prevention including public and community relations manager, Chris Roberts in the Lion and the Lamb Yard handing out educational booklets to passers-by.

This follows a surge in burglaries in the local area with reports of more than 30 break-ins in the Waverley area last month.

The pack included seven booklets containing security advice on preventing burglaries such as having decent locks on all doors and windows and an alarm system as well as information on personal security and protecting yourself from identity theft.

The booklets are designed to look friendly by using contain light- hearted cartoons to accompany the advice.

"We don't want to scare anyone" explained Mr Robini, "We just want to show the public that we are doing something."
