Banham's Personal Attack Filtering Policy

In keeping with the intention and spirit of the Association of Chief Police Officers’ Security Systems Policy and in conjunction with the Metropolitan Police, Banham initiated a method of filtering Personal Attack signals that is effective in reducing the number of false alarms passed to the Police.

This has two positive results. Firstly it prevents the waste of limited Police resources and secondly it protects our customers from having Police response withdrawn.

Since its implementation Banham has seen an overall reduction in the number of Personal Attack false alarms passed to the Police of over 40%.

Banham is proud of this additional service, which we provide to all our Alarm Receiving Centre customers at NO EXTRA CHARGE.

To date we know of only one other company that also offers this service. However, their version of this service is not FREE.

The Association of Chief Police Officers have included this filtering procedure into their policy and it is now a requirement before systems can be reinstated to full Police response.

In recognition of his efforts and initiative in developing and implementing this system, our ARC Manager, Mike Bowman, has been presented with a special award by the Metropolitan Police.

Banham in the Community

Banham have always supported local communities, giving talks to Neighbourhood Watch groups and putting displays at local events such as Police open days.

Our main object is to work with the community to help reduce local crime.

At Kensington we have staged displays at the town hall involving the local Neighbourhood Watch panel, assisting them in portraying measures that can be taken to protect our homes. The picture displayed shows the Mayor of Kensington presiding at their local AGM.

For a number of years Banham have supported the Woking Mela in Surrey. A community safety event put on at the local mosque with a view to educating the community of the dangers of local crime.

Banham have been involved in crime prevention events in connection with the Metropolitan Police. This picture shows a property marking event at Victoria Station when Banham representatives assisted the Police in educating the public regarding the thefts of mobile phones.

We are currently sponsoring the Belgravia Neighbourhood Watch newsletter which provides the local community with up to date information concerning local crime.

Banham and the Police

Banham work closely with Crime Reduction Officers throughout the South East of England, keeping up to date on local crime trends. We periodically attend their meetings, updating them on the latest Banham technology.

We have open days at our showrooms inviting the local Police to attend and view our products. Where possible we help with local Police initiatives, such and burglary campaigns, offering help to get important messages over to the public.

We have recently attended a seminar for Police Community Support Officers in Surrey on the subject of rural crime, giving advice on protecting more remote locations.

Working with Police Safer Neighbourhood teams allows us to keep up to date with local crime trends and assist with educating the public.

Another aspect of our involvement with the Police entails working with Architectural Liaison Officers and Crime Prevention Design Advisors, discussing all aspects of designing out crime at the planning stage.
