Lucie Banham is Awarded the BSIA Chairman’s Award for Contribution to Training

We are extremely proud to announce that Lucie Banham, Director of Banham Group, was awarded the BSIA Chairman’s Award for Contribution to Training at this year’s annual awards ceremony on July 12th, 2017.

The Awards, which took place at the Grand Connaught Rooms, recognise individuals and organisations that have made a special contribution to the security industry. Banham’s win for Contribution to Training further highlights Banham’s commitment to investing in young people through the Banham Academy.

Banham Academy was launched in 2014 to support and offer young people training and skills to build careers within the security industry. The Academy, which is registered on the Government’s Register of Apprenticeship Providers, works closely with colleges and other agencies to provide courses and employment opportunities for young people, with traineeships and apprenticeships.

Lucie Banham, after winning the BSIA Chairman’s Award for Contribution to Training, stated the following:

‘I am honoured to be awarded the BSIA Chairman’s Award for Contribution to Training.  I am grateful to the team behind the Banham Academy and all the hard work they have put into developing and training all of our apprentices and trainees. This award is really in recognition of all of them too.  It is so important to invest in the future generations and give young people the opportunity to grow a long-term career. We are committed to ensuring a pipeline of bright, young engineers not just for Banham but for the Industry as a whole.’

Kevin Faulkner, Head of Banham Academy, received the award on her behalf and commented:

‘This is a proud moment for the Banham Academy, to be recognised for our commitment to supporting young people and giving them the training and skills to build careers within the security industry. We understand just how vital it is to invest in young people and ensure that our industry continues to grow with talented and skilled engineers.’

James Kelly, Chief Executive of the BSIA commented:

“With apprenticeships playing an increasingly important role within the security industry, it is excellent to see training academies like Banham’s paving the way for young engineers. We wanted to present Lucie Banham with our Chairman’s Award for Contribution to Training as a mark of recognition for the hard work and dedication she has shown in providing opportunities for young apprentices in order to bridge the skills gap within the industry.”

Banham Academy’s plans for the future do not stop here. With more courses and apprenticeships being added every day, we are always looking for new, young professionals who want to acquire the necessary training and skillset to pursue a fulfilling career in the field.
