With cancer affecting 1 in 2 people, many of us at Banham have sadly been touched by cancer either directly, through our loved ones or amongst our colleagues. It is why this cause is so close to our hearts at Banham and why we feel it is so important to support The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity, helping to make a difference for cancer patients at The Royal Marsden, throughout the UK and around the world.
TEAM BANHAM’S IMPACT
Since our partnership began, The Banham Marsden March and The Banham Marsden March at Home have raised over £15,000,000 for The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity thanks to almost 50,000 walkers.
These funds help ensure The Royal Marsden’s world-leading nurses, doctors and research teams can provide the very best care and develop life-saving treatments, which are used across the UK and around the world.
Team Banham since 2015:
600 members of Team Banham have walked 7400 miles raising over £190,000!
We are proud of the difference Team Banham makes by taking part in the March each year with their friends, family, colleagues and furry friends.

The Banham Marsden March – together we walk to transform the lives of cancer patients
The Banham Marsden March is The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity’s flagship fundraising event. Taking place each May, thousands of supporters embark on the 15-mile route from Chelsea and Sutton, between the two Royal Marsden hospital sites, or join for the last 5 miles. Participants experience a one-of-a-kind atmosphere, coming together with staff, patients and supporters of The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity to transform the lives of cancer patients all around the world.
Choose your distance
Participants can choose between the 15 mile or family-friendly 5 mile routes, or can take part in The Banham Marsden March at Home and walk either distance in their local area.
The full 15-mile route goes from The Royal Marsden in Chelsea, through Fulham, Putney, Wimbledon and Cheam, all the way to The Royal Marsden in Sutton. The shorter, family-friendly 5-mile route follows the last five miles of the main route.
What to expect on the day
There’s an incredible atmosphere on the day, with heaps of excitement and an immense sense of community with thousands of participants coming together from across the country to set out on the walk.
At the start line we hear from patients, staff and fellow marchers before setting off. The five mile route will also have a family-friendly warm up activity to get walkers ready for the journey ahead.
Family day out
The Banham Marsden March is a brilliant family day out that can be enjoyed by everyone - all while getting your steps in!
The routes are step free and perfect for family, friends, wheelchairs, prams and pets! The 5 mile walk is a perfect route for those walking with young children.
No matter which route you take, you’ll receive your hard-earned Banham Marsden March medal when you reach the finish line. You’ll also be able to enjoy finish line celebrations including live music, performers, children’s activities, and special areas of reflection and celebration. A selection of delicious food options will also be available for you to choose from.
