Royal Marsden March 2017 – Sponsored by Banham
Banham had the honour to sponsor the annual Marsden March for the third consecutive year which took place on Sunday, 19th. The Marsden March means so much to so many of us and having 100 members of our team, as well as family and friends participating in the event, was the least we could do to stand by those who are affected by this terrible disease.
With the objective to raise money and awareness for the battle against cancer, the Marsden March is an increasingly important event that takes place every year since 2011 — over the last six years the event has raised over £8.2 million. Banham has managed to raise a total £44,369.62
The March is a 14-mile or a 5-mile walk between the Royal Marsden’s hospitals in Chelsea and Sutton. For the more adventurous and eager walkers, the full 14-mile route went through Chelsea, Putney, Wimbledon and finally into Sutton.
Over five thousand people participated, each of them for their own heartwarming reasons, marking another successful Marsden March.
The event wasn’t short on celebrities, as actor Larry Lamb, comedian Tim Vine, and actor John Altman also participated and helped to further raise awareness for this worthwhile cause.
Alongside the Banham walkers’ team, you could find the Morris Van which added a vintage note to the March:
The work of Royal Marsden is inspiring and touches the lives of so many people — sponsoring and taking part in this event is the least we could do to give back to help people in their fight against this terrible disease.
It’s not too late to donate to the Banham Team Just Giving page.
