We would like you to meet one of our installation apprentices Ethan, 17 years old. Ethan has been with Banham Academy for 6 months. When Ethan saw a Banham van he decided to research us online and saw opportunities as an apprentice, which he knew would be great for him – “I feel I learn better when there is a more hands-on approach as opposed to sitting in a classroom all day every day”
We asked Ethan what it is like to work for Banham – “It is really enjoyable and I feel like I am learning fast and get the help I need…by doing the apprenticeship route I can learn new ways of doing anything alarm or entry system related and the best methods.”
Ethan’s apprenticeship allows him to have in-house training as well as hands-on training with experienced Banham engineers – “While I am out with the engineers it is important I am on time; for the engineer to stay on schedule and for good customer service.”
We asked Ethan what advice he had for any young person considering an apprenticeship – “I would always advise any young person who is considering an apprenticeship to give it ago.”
“Ethan is hard working and always keen to help his fellow apprentices. He is very punctual which is extremely important in this industry. He receives great feedback from the senior engineers that he is sent out with” – Banham Academy Supporting Tutor.
