IFSEC Banham Apprentices finish on top!
IFSEC International, Europe’s largest security exhibition, welcomes over 27,000 global security professionals to ExCeL London to experience the latest technological innovations and hear from industry leaders within the security industry – all under one roof, over three days.
During the three-day period Banham Directors, managers and product support staff made their way to the exhibition to see some of the best products now available on the market. It was exciting to see the future of security and the Smart technology that is developing. We enjoyed catching up with existing suppliers and organisations such as NSI and Spelthorne Neighbourhood Watch
Over two days 12 apprentices from Banham Academy took part in the ‘Engineers of the future’ competition. Competing against other apprentices, the challenge set was to install and programme a small alarm system comprising of one control panel, one PIR sensor, one vibration sensor, a reacting bell box and a CSL dualcom system. The apprentices were also expected to figure out any deliberately placed faults within the system. At the end of each day, the winners and runners up were announced and we are pleased to say on the first day Ray (a second year Banham Academy apprentice) was runner up and on the final day Max and Jo (first year Banham Academy apprentices) won top place!
“Needless to say we are extremely proud of our apprentices that took part and scored so highly. It’s a true testament of the high quality training they receive through our academy. They supported each other through the entire day and the teamwork was fantastic to witness.” – Martin Herbert Managing director Banham
The competition was judged on a scoring system which consisted of speed, Health and Safety awareness, accuracy and their knowledge when tested.
We are looking forward to watching our teams compete again next year.
